Voter Services

The Illinois League will be doing an online voters guide through the National League's Vote 411 website. Our section will cover the following races: Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Comptroller, Treasurer, US Senator, Representatives in Congress, State Reps, and those State Senatorial districts that are up for election. Vote 411 will include a polling place finder (which will be updated for the general election), a voter registration tool, as well as information about candidates and ballot measures.

Voter Services Updates - January 2010
LWVPFA Voters Services co-chair Claudette Hall, with a help of the committee, was very busy registering voters in the south suburbs prior to the primary election in February 2010. Pat Cline has assisted with all the drives; Sandra Warren, Jerry Bridges, and Jackie Parker (new League members who have joined the committee) have helped too. Voter registration drives were held at Marion, Crete-Monee, Bloom Trail, Rich East, and Rich Central High Schools. Over 100 new voters were registered.

The committee also helped plan and run the candidates forums which were held in January in conjunction with the Leagues of the Homewood-Flossmoor Area and the Palos-Orland Area. Forums were held for candidates for both the 5th and 6th districts of the Cook County Board. Both forums were very well attended and quite lively! (One observer counted over 90 attendees at the forum for the 5th district!)
